Turkmenistan to participate in implementation of container line between Russia, Iran

Turkmenistan will participate in the implementation of a container line between Russia (port of Astrakhan) and Iran, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan: Golden Age electronic newspaper.

The mentioned container line will be a test one. The vessel for carrying out test transportation has already been selected. So far, cargo handling is carried out only in the Astrakhan port. In the future, it is planned to involve other countries of the Caspian Sea.

Special economic zone of Russia’s Astrakhan - 'Lotus' - will fully support the opening of the logistics center of Turkmenistan in the Astrakhan region of Russia.

Turkmenistan is ready to take practical steps to establish a logistics center in the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, Consul General of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan of Guych Garayev said earlier.

Garayev and Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin discussed the possibility of opening a logistics center for Turkmen goods on the territory of a new economic zone near Olya port on the Caspian Sea of Russia’s Astrakhan during their meeting on August 12, 2020.

Earlier, representatives of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region held a meeting to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of trade and expressed interest in the supply of products manufactured in Turkmenistan to Astrakhan.

In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing deliveries of textile goods, yarn and cotton products of Turkmen production to the Astrakhan region was discussed.
