Romania imported mineral fuels, mineral oils, and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes from Turkmenistan in the amount of over 23.4 million Euros in January 2021, Eurostat told Trend.
Eurostat said that Italy imported the mentioned products from Turkmenistan in the amount of 61.5 million Euros in 2020.
As earlier, the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism of Romania told Trend, the trade between Romania and Turkmenistan from January through October 2020 was $68.7 million.
"The exports of Romania to Turkmenistan amounted to $4.7 million, which is 25,45 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year," said the Romanian ministry
Meanwhile, the ministry added that imports of Romania from Turkmenistan were over $64 million.
"The structure of Romanian exports in October 2020 shows that the highest share in exports to Turkmenistan are machines, appliances, electrical equipment with a share of 92,9 percent and products of the chemical and related industries with a share of 4,1 percent," said the ministry.
Furthermore, the ministry named 3 categories of products exported from Romania to Turkmenistan: Parts for drilling or sinking machinery; parts of machinery (excl. of cast iron or cast steel); reception apparatus for television, color, with LCD screen (excl. incorporating video recording or reproducing apparatus, and monitors, and television projection equipment).
Meanwhile, the structure of Romanian imports from Turkmenistan shows that the highest share in October 2020 is given by mineral products with a share of 78,2 percent and the products of the chemical and related industries with a share of 21,6 percent.
According to the ministry, the top 3 categories of products imported from Turkmenistan to Romania are the following: Other petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude; urea containing more than 45 percent by weight of nitrogen on the dry anhydrous product; other sacks and bags, of a kind used for the packing of goods.
