Share of mining sector in Baku's industrial production disclosed

The volume of industrial goods and services from January through March 2021 in Baku amounted to 8.8 billion manat ($5.18 billion), Trend reports referring to the City Statistical Department.

According to the department’s report, 77.6 percent of industrial products were produced in the mining industry, 18.6 percent - in processing, 3.1 percent - in the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam, 0.7 percent - in water supply, waste treatment, and recycling sector.

“The share of the non-state sector in industry equaled 84.5 percent. The share of industrial products in the total production volume amounted to 89.9 percent, industrial services - 10.1 percent,” the report reads.

As of April 1, 2021, a stock of finished products in the warehouses of industrial enterprises amounted to 340.6 million manat ($200.3 million), the department said.

The warehouses of industrial enterprises also store products purchased from other enterprises and intended for resale in the amount of 84.3 million manat ($49.6 million).

The volume of industrial goods and services in Baku over 2020 amounted to 29.7 billion manat ($17.4 billion), down 4.8 percent compared to 2019.

Last year, 74.6 percent of industrial products were produced in the extractive industry, 22.5 percent - in processing, 2.1 percent - in the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam, 0.8 percent - in the sector water supply, cleaning and waste processing.
