New jobs created in Iran's Ardabil Province

In general, 9,162 new jobs were created in the industrial sector of Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran) over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Ardabil Province Ramin Sadeghi said in a press conference, Trend reports citing the IRNA.

According to Sadeghi, these jobs were created through the restoration of enterprises, the creation of new enterprises, the development of enterprises to increase manufacturing.

The chairman added that 950 enterprises were licensed for establishment in Ardabil Province within last Iranian year. About 450 trillion rials (about $10.7 billion) is to be invested in these enterprises and 15,000 people will be employed after launch of the enterprises.

“At present, the focus is on the establishment of 300 industrial enterprises in Ardabil Province, which will be launched in the next two years,” he said.

Sadeghi noted that the activities of 58 enterprises were restored in Ardabil Province last Iranian year. With the restoration of these enterprises, 1,100 people were provided with jobs. About 9.39 trillion rials (about $223 million) worth of loans were issued to restore the enterprises.

Moreover, 40 enterprises increased production by 30-80 percent in the last Iranian year. As a result, 635 people were employed, according to him.

The chairman stressed that the share of employment in the industrial sector of Ardabil Province increased from 25.6 percent to 27.9 percent during last Iranian year. There will be a significant increase in employment this year with the launched of 150 enterprises.

“A number of steps were taken in Ardabil Province to support domestic production, thus, outflow of $104 million was prevented from the country. In this regard, Ardabil Province ranks second in Iran,” he said.
