Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $3.92 billion from January through April 2021, which is 12.8 percent higher compared to the same period of the last year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The value of exports increased 19.6 percent and totaled $1.19 billion, while imports also increased 10.1 percent, amounting to $2.73 billion.

The trade deficit of Georgia from January through April 2021 amounted to $1.53 million which is 39 percent of total trade turnover.

The external merchandise trade of Georgia amounted to $2.77 billion from January through March 2021, 0.3 percent lower to the same period of 2020. The exports equaled $820.6 million (5.2 percent higher), while the imports stood at $1.95 billion (2.4 percent lower).

From January through March 2021 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 76.7 percent. The top partners were China ($109.8 million), Russia ($109.5 million), and Azerbaijan ($104.6 million).
