BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Greece and its diplomatic missions explore ways to further diversify the bilateral trade and to strengthen investment ties with Turkmenistan during the upcoming years, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece told Trend.

Greece is looking forward to a closer cooperation with Turkmenistan.

“Such areas of cooperation could possibly be energy, construction, agricultural and food products, information technologies and textiles,” said the ministry.

As earlier Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece told Trend, companies in Greece having advanced know-how in the fields of infrastructure construction, energy and mineral oils processing projects, are open to forming potential partnerships with Turkmen companies.

“With regard to bilateral economic cooperation, we are truly looking forward to strengthening our cooperation,” noted the ministry.

The ministry pointed out that Greece always seeks to further enhance and promote its bilateral relations and cooperation even with countries it does not have geographical proximity.

The ministry also noted that the countries "share friendly diplomatic relations with Turkmenistan since 1992."

“Greece supports and appreciates Turkmenistan’s policy of neutrality in the context of promoting stability, security and good neighborly relations in Central Asia,” added the ministry.
