Turkmenistan approves composition of Turkmen-Iranian commission on economic co-op

The composition of the Joint Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation has been approved from the Turkmen side, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The relevant resolution approving the composition of the aforementioned commission was signed by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The decree was signed in order to further develop the partnership between Turkmenistan and Iran.

Earlier, Turkmenistan and Iran signed the Program of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran for 2021-2022.

During the videoconference on May 12, representatives of the two countries also discussed cooperation in the fields of transport and healthcare, construction of joint facilities in the context of the practical implementation of the agreements reached earlier between Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Hassan Rouhani.

Earlier, a new automobile bridge has opened to connect the namesake cities of Sarakhs on the two sides of the Turkmen-Iranian border. The opening ceremony was held on June 8, 2020.
