Georgia expects high rates of economic growth

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25

After a difficult period, the Georgian economy began to grow, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said, Trend reports referring to the Georgian media.

He made the remark during the presentation of the annual report to the parliament.

"In March, the economy grew by 4 percent, in April - by a record 14.8 percent," Garibashvili said.

As the head of government noted, the government expects growth by more than 20 percent in May.

"Our task is to complete the ten-year development plan by the end of September, submit it and begin maximum control and monitoring of its implementation," Garibashvili said.

According to the head of government, the main task should be to increase GDP per capita to $10,000 over the next ten years, and the unemployment rate should be 9 percent, according to the minimum plan.
