Azerbaijan's 5M2021 export to Portugal notably up

Azerbaijan’s export to Portugal in the first 5 months of 2021 notably grew, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

According to the bulletin, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $193.63 million to Portugal in the reporting period (an increase of 48.1 percent year on year).

Meanwhile, the share of Portugal in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 1.88 percent to 2.61 percent.

As of early June 2021, Azerbaijan’s imports from Portugal lowered by 12.2 percent (from $5.4 million to $4.7 million). The share of Portugal in Azerbaijan's total imports amounted to 0.11 percent against 0.13 percent in the same period of 2020.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Portugal amounted to $198.4 million from January through May 2021, which is 45.7 percent more than in the same period of last year.

Besides, the balance of foreign trade turnover remained positive making up $188.9 million.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through May 2021 amounted to about $11.8 billion, which is 6.1 percent more on annual basis.
