Iran's exports through Bilasuvar border checkpoint up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5

The exports of Iran through the Bilasuvar border checkpoint in the Ardabil Province (north-western Iran) increased by 227 percent in terms of value and 113 percent in terms of volume during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of Iran's Bilasuvar border checkpoint Ramin Zahiri said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director general noted that 67,000 tons of goods worth $84 million were exported through Bilasuvar border checkpoint within the mentioned period.

“The exported goods were mainly potatoes, glass materials, ceramics, rubber and metal products,” he added.

Zahiri emphasized that also, $2.5 million worth of goods were imported through this border checkpoint in the 3 months, which is an increase of 17 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to him, revenues of the checkpoint for the three months amounted to 8.91 billion rials (about $212,000). This is an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

As reported, Iran's Bilasuvar border checkpoint is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
