Iran's MIDHCO to launch new facilities

As many as 5 facilities of the Iranian Middle East Mines Industries Development Holding Company (MIDHCO) will be put into operation tomorrow on July 8, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to the report, Zarand Steel Plant is among the facilities to be put into operation. This plant can produce 1.7 million tons of steel ingots per year.

“In addition, another facility to be put into operation is a copper cathode plant. The plant will produce 50,000 tons of copper cathode per year by bacterial leaching method,” the report said.

Also, vehicles on the transportation of mining minerals will be put into operation. These vehicles will be able to transport 100 million tons of minerals per year, the report said.

According to the report, a plant for the production of lime and dolomite will be put into operation. This enterprise can produce 400,000 tons of products per year.

“Moreover, Coke Dry Quenching facility will be put into operation. This facility will cool 800,000 tons of coke per year.,” the report said.

A total of 400 trillion rials (about $9.52 billion) has been spent in this regard. And as a result, 4,150 people will be provided with jobs. The financial support of the facilities was provided by the Bank Pasargad of Iran, the report said.
