Iran begins oil export via Goreh-Jask Pipeline Project

Iran begins oil export operations from the coast of Makran in the Oman Sea, Iran Oil Minister, Bijan Zanganeh said at the official opening ceremony of the Goreh-Jask crude oil pipeline project, Trend reports citing SHANA.

The manufacturing stage began in 2017 and the piping operation of this project officially began in July 2020, he said.

He went on to note the Storage of 10 million barrels of crude oil in Jask terminal.

There are 5 pumping stations, 10 substations, about 300 km of transmission line, and 2 artillery stations in the Goreh-Jask pipeline project.

Zanganeh noted that at the end of the chain, there is a measuring unit, an artillery station, and then a crude oil loading facility.

The Minister of Oil stated that 20 reservoirs with a total volume of 10 million barrels of crude oil storage are being installed in the Jask terminal.

He announced that now, the crude oil has reached Jask port without any operational problems after crossing over the distance of approximately one thousand kilometers.

Zanganeh stated that the sections that will be put into operation today include a thousand kilometers of pipeline, pumping station No. 2, receiving facilities and equipment, and loading in Jask terminal with a capacity of 300,000 barrels per day.

"The total progress of the project is 82 percent," he said. "More than $1.2 billion has been spent on the project so far."
