Iran reveals data on transport of basic goods from its ports

TEHRAN, Iran, July 24

From the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021) till July 22, 17.7 million tons of basic goods were transported in Iran by trucks, Trend reports Mehr News Agency.

"The largest amount of basic goods transported is from the port of Imam Khomeini with 4.37 million tons. Some 860,000 tons of basic goods have been transferred from Shahid Rajaei port," said the report.

A special headquarters for the transportation of basic goods was set up about 29 days ago in the Roads and Transportation Organization of Iran and provincial administrations are helping to move the goods.

Over 154 million tons (mt) of goods were transported through Iran’s roads in the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 through June 21) of which 6.5 million tons of basic goods were distributed from the country’s ports, according to Iran's Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.
