Value of Iran’s exports through customs of South Khorasan Province growing

Iran's exports through the customs of the South Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) increased by 41 percent in terms of value, and decreased by 19 percent in terms of volume during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of South Khorasan Province Customs Office Hassan Rahimizadeh told IRNA, Trend reports.

The director general emphasized that 848,000 tons of goods worth $263 million were exported through the customs of the province over the 4 months.

Rahimizadeh added that vegetables, cement, ceramics, diesel, light hydrocarbons, reinforcements, asphalt and dates were main exported goods through the province’s customs. These goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Turkmenistan and Pakistan.

“Within the mentioned period, 31,200 tons of goods were transited by 1,000 trucks through the Mahirud border checkpoint. The transited goods were industrial oils, sugar, pepper, broiler chicken and others,” he said.

According to the director general, 495 tons of goods worth $6.1 million were imported in the 4 months. The imports increased by 30 times in terms of value and 4 times in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year. The imported goods were manufacturing equipment and raw materials, etc. These goods were imported from the UAE and Afghanistan.
