Uzbekistan sees increase in livestock in Kashkadarya region

Out of all categories of farms, the livestock of sheep and goats, increased by 40,300 heads in the Kashkadarya region as of summer 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020 and their total number reached 4.6 million heads, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

Furthermore, the bulk of Uzbekistan’s sheep and goats belongs to the Kashkadarya region.

Dekhkan (personal farm) farms account for 81.7 percent of the total number of sheep and goats in the country, for farms - 13 percent, for organizations carrying out agricultural activities - 5.3 percent.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, growth was observed in farms by 5.3 percent, dehkan farms - by 1.1 percent and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 4.9 percent.

The largest share of the total number of sheep and goats among the regions belongs to the Kashkadarya region (20.8 percent). Moreover, a significant share was noted in Surkhandarya (10.9 percent), Samarkand (10.7 percent) and Navoi (10.4 percent) regions.

Furthermore, in 2021, 4.7 million grain crops were produced in Uzbekistan.

Out of total production of grain crops 4.6 million tons or 98.1 percent were grain-ear crops.

The largest volume of grain ear production was recorded in farms - 3.9 million tons, or 83.5 percent of the total volume of their production.

A significant share of the total volume of grain crops belongs to the Surkhandarya region (12.6 percent). At the same time, high rates of grain ear production were noted in Fergana (11.5 percent), Kashkadarya (11.1 percent) and Andijan (10.6 percent) regions.
