Iran’s non-oil exports increase

The non-oil exports of Iran increased by 54 percent in terms of value and 9.5 percent in terms of volume in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

Iran's non-oil exports for the 5th month amounted to 7.14 million tons worth $3.32 billion, according to Latifi.

Latifi added that the exports decreased by 9 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume, compared to the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021).

“So, Iran exported 2.43 million tons of goods worth $1.5 billion to China in the 5th month, which is an increase of 20 percent in terms of value and a decrease of 12 percent in terms of volume compared to the 4th month,” he said.

The official noted that Iran also exported 1.08 million tons of goods worth $346 million to Iraq in the 5th month. The exports decreased by 27 percent in terms value and 18 percent in terms of volume, compared to the 4th month.

In addition, Iran exported 734,000 tons of goods worth $285 million to the UAE within the mentioned month. This is a decrease of 19 percent in terms of value and 13 percent in terms of volume compared to the 4th month.

At the same time, Iran exported 362,000 tons of goods worth $184 million to Turkey in the 5th month. The exports decreased by 44 percent in terms of value, while increased by 4 percent in terms of volume compared to the 4th month, the spokesman emphasized.

Latifi also said that Iran exported 364,000 tons of goods worth $127 million to Afghanistan in the 5th month, which is a 50-percent decrease in terms of value and a 12-percent decrease in terms of volume compared to the 4th month.

"In total, Iran's trade turnover for 5th month amounted to about 8.45 million tons worth about $5.38 billion," he noted.
