Iran boosts mobile phone imports

Iran's mobile phone imports increased by 85 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to the report, Iran imported about $1.4 billion worth of mobile phones of various brands within the 5 months.

Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure amounted to $756 million.

As reported, Iran's trade turnover with foreign countries amounted to 59.3 million tons worth $34.2 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, Iran exported 45.5 million tons of goods worth $176 billion over the 5 months. The exports increased by 63 percent in terms of value and 20 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Within 5 months, Iran imported 13.8 million tons of goods worth $16.6 billion, which is an increase of 21 percent in terms of value and decreased by 5 percent in terms of volume.
