Kazakhstan’s revenue from the product transportation via pipelines amounted to 1 trillion tenge ($2.3 billion) over the period from January through August 2021, which is 6 percent less than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The revenue for August 2021 amounted to 133.08 billion tenge ($313.1 million), which is 2.6 percent more compared to August 2020.
The volume transported during the reporting period amounted to 175.4 million tons, which is 2 percent more compared to the same period of last year (23.09 million in August 2021, 14.2 percent more compared to August 2020)
Cargo turnover amounted to 89.06 billion ton-kilometers which is 7.1 percent more than during the same period of last year. The cargo turnover for August 2021 stood at 11.3 billion t-km, which is 14.9 percent more compared to the same month of 2020.
The majority of the products transported via pipelines accounted for the Atyrau region of the country, i.e. 56.04 million tons over eight months of 2021, which is 1.7 percent less compared to the same period last year.
Kazakhstan’s largest oil pipeline company is KazTransOil, which provides services on oil transportation on the domestic market and for export.
The company is an owner of the largest network of main oil pipelines and water lines in the country, the total length of which amounts to 5,376 km of oil pipelines and 1,975 km of water pipeline.
