Uzbekistan shares data on agricultural exports

The largest importer of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan from January through August 2021 is Russia, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, 245,700 tons of agricultural products worth $175.2 million were shipped to Russia with a share of 31.9 percent in the total export of fruit and vegetables.

The second major consumer of agricultural products from Uzbekistan is Kazakhstan, where 437,500 tons of vegetables and fruits were exported for $128.7 million with a share of 23.5 percent in the nationwide export of fruits and vegetables.

The analysis shows that these countries account for over 55 percent of the export of agricultural products.

The five main exporters of Uzbek agricultural products include Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and China.

For eight months, 87,700 tons of products were shipped to Kyrgyzstan for $81.7 million with a share of 14.9 percent.

Pakistan moved to fourth place, where 18.700 tons of vegetables and fruits were shipped for $38.1 million with a share of 7 percent in the total export.

This is followed by China – 38,700 tons for $32 million with a share of 5.8 percent.

Official statistics recorded that the export of fruit and vegetable products continues to stall. From January through August, its volume amounted to 948,600 tons and, in value terms, exceeded $548.6 million; 579,000 tons of vegetables worth $244.8 million were exported, as well as 198,400 tons of fruits and berries worth $195 million.

During the reporting period, the share of fruits and vegetables in total exports of Uzbekistan amounted to 5.9 percent.
