Uzbekistan has imported more than 281.6 million liters of fuel from January through August 2021, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the Committee, Uzbekistan spent $100 million on the purchase.
It is noted that only in August 2021 7 million liters of fuel were imported to Uzbekistan. Thus, fuel imports increased 3.2 times compared to the same period last year.
The main exporters of gasoline to Uzbekistan are: Russia - 139 million liters, Turkmenistan - 121 million liters, Kazakhstan - 16 million liters and Iraq - 3.6 million liters.
At the same time, from January through August 2021, Uzbekistan produced about 730,000 tons of gasoline itself.
Moreover, the production of local fuel increased by 5.1 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
