Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will cooperate within the 'Agroexpress' project, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
This agreement was reached during the working trip of Minister of Trade and Integration, Special Representative of the President of Kazakhstan for Uzbekistan Bakhyt Sultanov to Uzbekistan.
The issue of constructing three more wholesale distribution centers in Uzbekistan through investors’ funds from Kazakhstan, as well as the possibility of creating a wholesale distribution center by the Uzbek businessmen in the northern Kazakh regions were discussed during the meeting.
The sides also expressed interest in signing forward contracts for the supply of fruits, vegetables to stabilize domestic demand during the period between the seasons.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the work to remove barriers in mutual trade.
Sultanov drew attention to the need to unify the rules for determining the country of origin of goods in the CIS, which will positively affect the increase in mutual trade between the two countries and will allow to reach the $10 billion level even faster.
