TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.9
Iran's steel industry is developing significantly, Iranian MP Mohammad Reza Mirtajodini told Trend.
"The steel industry is flourishing and moving toward development, which is good, since a lot of sectors, including the home appliances sector, auto sector, construction sector as well, are reliant on the steel industry," he said.
"Iran can export steel products to neighboring countries, but the government should take measures to prevent the sale of raw materials," he stressed.
Mirtajodini noted that many steel mills need basic materials and it is difficult to manufacture them right now, so the government must support the industries' access to these materials.
He went on to add that the pricing of finished steel products should be reviewed.
