Iran shares data on exports via South Khorasan Province’s customs

Iran’s exports through the customs of South Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) amounted to 1.6 million tons worth about $513 million, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), Director General of South Khorasan Province Customs Office Hassan Rahimizadeh told IRNA, Trend reports.

Rahimizadeh noted that exports through the province's customs for the reporting period increased by 22 percent in value, while decreasing by 35 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The director general added that vegetables, cement, ceramics, light hydrocarbons, diesel, bitumen, dates and others were main exported goods via the province's customs. These goods were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

“Furthermore, 652,000 tons of the province's own goods worth $80.2 million were exported over 8 months. This is a decrease of 3 percent in value and 41 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

According to Rahimizadeh, 953,000 tons of goods worth $432 million from other Iranian provinces were exported through the customs of South Khorasan Province. This is an increase by 28 percent in value, while a decrease of 25 percent in volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
