Iran cooperates with ECO to confront natural disasters

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.15

Trend:

Iran's cooperation with the members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to confront natural disasters, can be assessed as constructive, said head of Iran's Central Insurance Company Gholamreza Soleimani, Trend reports via IRNA.

Economic Cooperation Organization or ECO is an Asian political and economic intergovernmental organization which was founded in 1985 in Tehran by the leaders of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey. It provides a platform to discuss ways to improve development and promote trade and investment opportunities.

"Iran is interested in cooperation with various international organizations in various fields, such as insurance-related researches and is ready for implementing practical suggestions," Soleimani said.

Increasing interaction and insurance cooperation between member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization can reduce damages caused by natural disasters in the region, he indicated.

It is necessary to have international conversations, exchange experiences, and expand cooperation between the private sectors, Soleimani believes.
