Turkmenistan intends to use international experience to develop its agricultural sector

Turkmenistan intends to use international experience to develop its agricultural sector Trend reports via Arzuw News.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between Finance and Economy Minister of Turkmenistan Mukhammetgeldi Serdaro and Sub-Regional Coordinator of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for Central Asia Viorel Gutsu.

The meeting saw the signing of the Cooperation Framework Program with Turkmen leadership for 2025.

The parties considered the possibilities of opening the Organization's representative office in Turkmenistan, as provided for in the Cooperation Framework Program. FAO representatives discussed in depth the signing of a separate agreement on the establishment of the Organization's country office in Ashgabat, as well as the provision of technical assistance to it.

Gutsu also voiced a proposal on the launch of new mutually beneficial projects between Turkmenistan and the Organization, specifically the development of fishing.
