IRICA records surge in Iran’s trade turnover with EAEU member states

Iran's trade turnover with the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased by 71 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last year, Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Hossein Kakhaki said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

The official stressed that the value of Iran's trade turnover with EAEU member states for the reporting period amounted to about $4.64 billion.

He added that Iran exported about $980 million worth of goods to the EAEU member states in 10 months, which is an increase of 17 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Iran exported $490 million worth of goods to Russia, about $151 million worth to Kazakhstan, $67.9 million worth to Kyrgyzstan, $15.2 million worth to Belarus and $256 million worth to remaining member countries,” Kakhaki said.

According to the director general, Iran imported $3.66 billion worth of goods from the EAEU member states within the mentioned period. Imports increased by 67 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Kakhaki also noted that over 10 months, Iran imported $3.3 billion worth of goods from Russia, $322 million worth from Kazakhstan, $24.5 million worth from Belarus, $1.25 million worth from Kyrgyzstan and $7.62 million worth from remaining member countries.
