Kazakhstan unveils its main foreign trade indicators for 2021

Russia, China and Italy were the main trading partners of Kazakhstan in 2021, Trend reports via the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

According to the ministry, last year, the trade turnover of Kazakhstan was 17.4 percent higher than in 2020 and amounted to $101.5 billion. The main share of trade accounted for processed goods: in 2021, this figure amounted to $58.1 billion, which is 12 percent higher than in 2020 ($51.8 billion).

Exports from Kazakhstan for 2021 increased by 26.9 percent and amounted to $60.3 billion, while imports grew by 5.8 percent, equaling $41.2 billion. The main goods exported from Kazakhstan are crude oil, copper and copper cathodes, ferroalloys, natural gas, uranium, iron ores and concentrates, copper ores and concentrates, wheat, hot-rolled flat steel from unalloyed steel, and petrochemicals.

The main goods imported to the country are: computers, car bodies, cars and spare parts for cars and tractors, phones, medicines packaged for retail sale, as well as vaccines and blood serum.

Total bilateral trade with Russia made up $24.2 billion, trade turnover with China – nearly $18.2 billion, and the volume of mutual trade with Italy exceeded $9.6 billion.

The top ten partner countries also included: the Netherlands, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, South Korea, the US, Germany, India, Spain, Romania, Greece, and Switzerland.
