Iran discloses details of exports from Khuzestan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 21

Exports from the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) amounted to more than 13.5 million tons worth $5.5 billion, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Khuzestan Province Amir Hossein Nazari told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Nazari, petrochemical products accounted for about 55 percent of Khuzestan Province's exports for 10 months. Other exported products were industrial products, cement, gypsum, construction materials, various metals, dairy products, dates and vegetables.

The chairman added that in 10 months, about 25 percent of the province's goods were exported to Iraq.

“In addition, 17.3 million tons of goods worth $8 billion were imported to Khuzestan Province over ten months,” he said.

Nazari also pointed out that about $4.5 billion worth of goods were imported to the province through the Imam Khomeini port.

Iran's Khuzestan Province is one of the provinces that play a key role in the country's exports and imports. There are Imam Khomeini port, Khorramshahr port, as well as, Chazabeh, Shalamcheh border customs operating in the province.
