A total of 2.32 million tons of goods worth about 200 trillion rials (about $4.75 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (February 19 through February 24, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 7.5 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (February 12 through February 17, 2022).
So, 2.51 million tons of goods worth more than 178 trillion rials (about $4.23 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.
According to the report, about 1.98 million tons of goods worth about 137 trillion rials (about $3.26 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.
The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, copper, aluminum, zinc ingots, molybdenum concentrate, precious metals concentrate, gold bars, etc.
In addition, about 329,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 58.7 trillion rials (about $1.4 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.
The main products sold in this section were, bitumen, polymer substances, vacuum bottom, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, argon, etc.
Furthermore, about 15,700 tons of various products worth about 3.77 trillion rials (about $89.9 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
