Volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in Iran’s Khorramshahr port increases

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 5.37 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022), compared to the 10th month (December 22, 2021, through January 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, more than 327,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 11th month. Of this, about 309,000 tons were loaded and 18,200 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, 308,000 tons of cargo were exported and 17,600 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

Also, 268 tons of cargo were loaded and 420 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 789 tons of cargo were loaded and 167 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the same time month.

According to the statistics, 3,680 tons of essential products, 2,810 tons of metal products, 302,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,940 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 13 tons of chemicals, 3,140 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 87 tons of small and assorted goods, 12,900 tons of container products and 52 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

About 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.11 million tons were loaded and 6.49 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 14.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
