Kazakhstan unveils inflation indicators

Inflation in Kazakhstan amounted to 0.8 percent in February compared to January 2022 and 8.7 percent compared to February 2021, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The prices on food items grew by 1.2 percent in a month (10 percent year-on-year), prices of non-food items increased by 0.5 percent (8.6 percent year-on-year).

The increase in prices was observed for fresh vegetables by 6.6 percent, potatoes - by 4.1 percent, flour - by 2.1 percent, cereals - by 1.9 percent, pasta - by 1.8 percent, bread - by 1.5 percent. 7 percent, granulated sugar - by 1.5 percent, poultry meat - by 1.2 percent, pasteurized milk - by 1.1 percent, fermented milk products - by 1 percent, dried fruits and nuts - by 0.9 percent, fresh fruits , bakery and flour products - 0.8 percent each.

Soft drinks rose in price by 1.5 percent, tobacco products - by 1 percent, alcoholic beverages - by 0.9 percent. Price reduction was recorded for eggs by 2.4 percent.

The increase in prices for household appliances amounted to 1.5 percent, cars, pharmaceutical products, personal goods - 1.2 percent each, furniture and household items, textiles, building materials - 0.9 percent each, detergents and cleaning products - 0 ,8 percent.

Liquefied gas in cylinders fell in price by 0.8 percent, diesel fuel - by 0.4 percent.

Air passenger transport services went up by 6.9 percent. The prices for health care services increased by 1.8 percent, hairdressing and personal care establishments - by 1.2 percent, catering - by 1.1 percent, hotels - by 0.9 percent.
