Turkish Company eyes investments in Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province - official

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2

Iran has approved a plan for an investment of $10 million in the East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) by a Turkish company, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Abedin Khorram said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The governor noted that the investment will be made in the "Foreign Investment Industrial Park" in Tabriz city and thus, 500 people will be provided with jobs.

Khorram added that the provincial government is taking serious steps to attract private sector investment, as well as, the attention of local and foreign investors.

He also said that the focus is on developing infrastructure to attract investment to the East Azerbaijan Province.

According to Khorram, work is underway in many areas in the province, including the construction of power plants, petrochemical and steel plants, which are among the areas interested in investors.
