BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. Inflation in Kazakhstan amounted to 12 percent in March compared to March 2021 and by 3.7 percent compared to February 2022, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Food prices increased by 15.4 percent in March 2022 compared to March 2021. The for granulated sugar increased by 51.5 percent, fresh vegetables - by 44 percent, potatoes - by 37.8 percent, poultry meat - by 25.5 percent, sunflower oil - by 23.8 percent, cereals - by 22.2 percent, pasta - by 17.7 percent, lamb - by 16.7 percent, horse meat - by 15.1 percent.

Prices of flour increased by 15 percent, bakery and flour products - by 13.6 percent, pasteurized milk - by 13.1 percent, meat products - by 12.6 percent, fermented milk products - by 12.5 percent, fresh fruits - by 12.2 percent, hard cheese - by 12.1 percent, bread, butter - by 11, 4 percent, confectionery - by 11.3 percent, pork - by 11.1 percent.

Mineral and drinking water rose in price by 15.9 percent, tobacco products - by 15.2 percent, soft drinks - by 14.3 percent, alcoholic beverages - by 9.6 percent. The decrease in prices was observed for eggs by 4.6 percent.

The increase in prices for non-food products stood at 10.9 percent in March compared to March 2021. The prices for household appliances increased by 27.8 percent, cars - by 19.8 percent, furniture and household items, building materials - by 11.8 percent, detergents and cleaning products - by 10.8 percent, personal goods - by 10.2 percent, textile products - by 7.1 percent, pharmaceutical products - by 5.8 percent.

Prices for paid services increased by 8.3 percent in March compared to March of last year. The prices for the services of sanatoriums increased by 11.5 percent, public catering - by 11.3 percent, healthcare - by 9.7 percent, hairdressers and personal care establishments - by 8.9 percent, hotels - by 6 percent.

Prices on passenger transport services went up by 4.7 percent.
