TEHRAN, Iran, May 23. Iran is selling 187 state-owned companies and 300 assets to the private sector, said the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finances Ehsan Khandoozi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The government is obligated by the budget plan for the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022) to assign state-owned shares in various companies to several funds as part of its debt payment," he said.
Khandoozi stressed public ownership of the state-owned companies through the Justice Shares and improving the capital market by trading these shares.
The official pointed out the necessity to review the implementation of privatization law in regard to government debts.
