Iran eyes opening trade center in Qatar, offering legal advise, logistics support

TEHRAN, Iran, June 7. Iran is looking to launch a trade center in Qatar in the near future, said the head of Iran Trade and Promotion Organization Alireza Peyman Pak, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Iranian government plans to improve trade with neighboring countries and expand its export market," he said during a meeting with Iranian businessmen in Doha.

He pointed out that Iran has established trade centers in eight countries and more centers are underway in 12 other countries that would provide legal and tax consultations and logistics support.

According to the official, the Iranian government will provide incentives to Iranian businesses for trade with neighboring countries in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022).

The 8th meeting of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Commission is to be held on June 7 in Doha to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and economy.

Earlier, Iranian Energy Minister and Co-Chair of the Iran-Qatar Joint Economic Cooperation Commission Ali Akbar Mehrabian said that private sector of both countries has an effective role in increasing trade turnover and can be effective in economic relations between the two countries.

According to him, Iran's new government has made it a priority to improve relations with neighboring countries, including Qatar. In this regard, support for the private sector can contribute to the development of economic relations.

"The Qatari market is a very important market for Iranian businessmen. Right now, the most important issue for businessmen in the economy is the existence of a profitable, reliable market," Mehrabian had said.
