BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Exports through the customs of Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 32 percent in value and 8 percent in volume, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Customs Inspector of Khuzestan Province Behrouz Gharabeigi said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The official stressed that about 3 million tons of goods worth about $1.4 billion were exported through the province's customs in two months.

“In addition, 2.7 million tons of goods worth more than $1.5 billion were imported through the province's customs within the mentioned period. Imports increased by 17 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he added.

Gharabeigi noted that the province’s customs revenues for 2 months amounted to about 15.7 trillion rials (about $373 million), which is an increase of 60 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
