BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. The value of trade turnover between Iran and Oman is expected to reach $2 billion for the current Iranian year of Iran (March 21, 2022-March 20, 2023), Iranian co-chair of Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce Mohsen Zarrabi told reporters on June 15, Trend reports citing IRNA.

According to Zarrabi, the value of trade turnover between the two counties amounted to $1.2 billion for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

“Meanwhile, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), the trade turnover between Iran and Oman was $331 million worth, which is an increase of 145 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

The chairman also added that the value of Iran’s trade turnover with Oman amounted to $135 million in the first two months of the last Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2021).

As for Iran's exports to Oman, the official noted that Iran exported $203 million worth of goods to Oman in 2 months, which is 128 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.

Whereas in the same period last Iranian year, the value of Iran's exports to Oman amounted to $89 million, he said.

“In two months, Iran imported $128 million worth of goods from Oman. Imports increased by 178 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, Iran's imports from Oman stood at $46 million worth in the same period last Iranian year,” Zarrabi also pointed out.
