BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 25. Iran mainly prefers neighboring countries for export of its non-oil products, Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Alireza Peymanpak said at a press conference on June 25, Trend reports from the event.

The deputy minister said that an economic delegation sent from Iran to neighboring countries every week, and at the same time, delegations from neighboring countries come to Iran.

In particular, Iran has reached positive coordination with Oman, Qatar and Pakistan to increase trade turnover, he said.

Peymanpak noted that in general, Iran intends to take two steps to increase trade with neighboring countries - first, to coordinate all issues related to non-oil trade with the country's agencies, and the second - to prepare a roadmap for development of trade using the opinions of chambers of commerce and businessmen.

“Iran aims to reach the value of its non-oil exports to $53 billion for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), while last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the figure stood at $45 billion. And the value of country’s non-oil exports amounted to $48 billion for the last Iranian year,” the deputy minister pointed out.

Peymanpak emphasized that during last Iranian year, Iran's non-oil exports increased by 40 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
