Iran, Russia to develop railway, aviation, and maritime ties

TEHRAN, Iran, August 23. Iran is pursuing cooperation with Russia in developing aviation, railway, and maritime industries in addition to the auto industry, said Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Manouchehr Manteghi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Iran requires advanced transportation systems to increase trade with neighboring countries and the agenda is to grow these relations, he said on the sideline of the MIMS Automobility exhibition in Moscow.

The two countries have advanced maritime industries and have the potential to produce joint products, he noted.

The deputy minister has underlined that officials of the two countries are preparing the ground to promote cooperation.

Iran’s Minister of Industries Reza Fatemi Amin has traveled to Moscow on top of a senior delegation to attend the opening ceremony of the Russian auto exhibition.

Over 40 Iranian auto part manufacturing companies and the two major Iranian automakers, Iran Khodro and SAIPA, will discuss bilateral cooperation with their counterparts at the auto show.
