Iran discloses volume of cargo loaded, unloaded at Iran`s ports

TEHRAN, Iran, August 30. The volume of essential commodities loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports decreased by 8.3 percent in the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

A total of 9.52 million tons of essential commodities were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting period. While in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 10.3 million tons.

Some 500,000 tons of edible oil were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned period. This is a decline of about 50 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (1.31 million tons).

The amount of wheat loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 119 percent in the mentioned period, reaching 3.09 million tons compared to the same period last year.

Moreover, 629,000 tons of barley, 2.9 million tons of corn, 1.68 million tons of soybean, 520,368 tons of sugar, and 141,817 tons of rice were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month, according to the statistics.
