Iran’s non-oil exports to ECO member states soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Iran's exports to the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), increased by 40 percent in value and 20 percent in volume during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, Iran exported a total of 7.31 million tons of non-oil products worth $4.12 billion to ECO member states in 5 months.

Latifi added that Iran exported 3.68 million tons of non-oil products worth $2.32 billion to Türkiye, 1.25 million tons worth $641 million to Afghanistan and 1.08 million tons worth over $475 million to Pakistan over 5 months.

"At the same time, Iran exported goods worth $296 million to Azerbaijan, worth $166 million to Turkmenistan, worth $88 million to Uzbekistan, worth about $61.2 million to Kazakhstan, worth $45.6 million to Tajikistan and worth $18.4 million to Kyrgyzstan within the mentioned period," the official said.

The spokesman also noted that Iran's foreign trade turnover with ECO member states for the first 5 months of the current Iranian year amounted to 9.1 million tons worth $6.89 billion. Trade turnover increased by 39 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The following ten countries are at present the member states of ECO: Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkey, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan.
