import mining and road-building machinery to boost mining

It is necessary to import road building and mining machinery such as excavators, loaders, and bulldozers that are not produced domestically, he said.
The Iranian Heavy Equipment Production Company (HEPCO) is the main manufacturer of industrial machinery but the company is not able to produce heavy machinery and the shortage would affect the mining sector and road building projects.
Sahlabadi underlined the lack of mining machinery has led to the closure of 5,000 small and medium-scale mines in the country.
According to the official, Iran can import second-hand European machinery from the Persian Gulf states with lower prices to use in the mining sector.
