Iran’s trade with East Africa doubles

TEHRAN, Iran, October 4. Iran’s trade with Eastern Africa has doubled during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2022), said Deputy Head of Iran Trade Promotion Organization Ahmad Reza Alaie Tabatabaie, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"The trade volume between Iran and Eastern Africa in five months the current year has been equal to the total amount of exports to Eastern Africa last Iranian year (started March 21,2021)," he noted.

Iran's trade with Eastern Africa was about $1 billion last year and due to launch of maritime shipping lines the trade has been on the rise, he added.

According to the deputy, Iran is looking to establish the same trade growth with Western Africa in the next six months.
