BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Iran’s Moghan Agro-Industry and Livestock Company, operating under the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, pays special attention to cultivation of agricultural products, especially, wheat and rapeseed, Executive Director of the company Ghasem Mohammadi told Trend.

The director said that the company has 23,000 hectares of land in the Parsabad County of Iran’s Ardabil Province (north-western Iran), as well as about 5,000 employees.

“Some 19,000 hectares of the company's land have been allocated for cultivation of agricultural products, mainly wheat and rapeseed,” he added.

According to Mohammadi, the company provided 25,000 tons of wheat and about 4,000 tons of rapeseed to the Iranian Government Trading Corporation (GTC) during the preceding cultivation season (September 21, 2021 through September 22, 2022).

“Along with the two mentioned products, the company cultivates seeds of barley, alfalfa, cotton, sugar beet and other crops. The seeds grown by the company can be exported to different countries due to their high quality,” he noted.

He pointed out that the company currently sells 4,000 tons of wheat seeds to local farmers in Iran.

Mohammadi also emphasized that the company has the potential to export various seeds to Azerbaijan.

“In general, the annual production of the company is around 800,000 tons. The company has been operating for 52 years and is one of the famous companies in the world and is considered one of the largest companies in the region,” the director said.
