BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan amounted to 42.1 million tons from January through September 2022, which is 14.9 percent less than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.4 million tons in September 2022, which is 12.5 percent less than in September 2021.

Production of copper ores grew by 8.5 percent compared to the same period last year, having amounted to 9.7 million tons (12.1 million tons in September 2022, an increase by 20.1 percent compared to the same month in 2021).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 4.2 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase of 8.2 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 477,400 tons in September 2022, which is 14.5 percent more than in September 2021.

Production of gold ores amounted to 29.4 million tons over the reporting period, which is 17.3 percent more than during the same period of 2021. The volume of gold ores produced in September 2022 was 3.2 million tons, which is 3.9 percent more than in September 2021.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 6.6 million tons, which is 9.8 percent more than during the same period of 2021 (671,900 tons in September 2022, up by 2.4 percent compared to September 2021).

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 257,700 tons, which is 71.9 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (23,700 tons in September 2022, a decrease of 76.5 percent compared to September 2021).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 4.4 million tons, which is 1.5 percent more than during the same period of 2021 (419,000 tons in September 2022, a decrease of 37.9 percent compared to September 2021).
