BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. Cargo transit through the customs of Iran’s Mazandaran Province in the north of the country, increased by 72 percent in value and 65 percent in volume, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Supervisor of Mazandaran Customs Office Asgar Niknafas told Mehr New Agency, Trend reports.

Niknafas said that a total of 189,000 tons of cargo worth over $202 million were transited to neighboring countries through the customs of the province in 9 months.

The official noted that the income of the province's customs for the reporting period amounted to 9.51 trillion rials (about $226 million), which is an increase of 218 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In total, the non-oil trade turnover via the province’s customs for 9 months amounted to 2.58 million tons worth approximately $1.27 billion, which is an increase of 12 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
