BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 5. Cargo transit through the ports of Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), increased by 65 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of International Transit and Transport Department of Mazandaran Province Mohammad Bakeri said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

“Thus, more than 189,000 tons of cargo were transited through the ports of the Province in 9 months,” he said.

There are a total of 3 ports operating in Iran's Mazandaran Province - Noshahr, Fereidoonkenar, and Amirabad ports.

Bakeri emphasized that among the province’s ports, the most active port for 9 months was the Amirabad port.

As reported, a total of 189,000 tons of cargo worth over $202 million were transited to neighboring countries through the customs of Mazandaran Province within the first nine months of the current Iranian year.
