BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 1. Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) is estimated to launch a number of facilities as a part of its 29 new projects by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023), Chairman of the IMIDRO, Vajihollah Jafari told IRNA, Trend reports.
“In total, $14.4 billion and approximately 259 million euros were spent on facilities to be put into use within 29 projects,” Jafari said.
Jafari added that the launch of the mentioned facilities will allow providing 2,098 people with new jobs.
The chairman did not clarify what kind of products will be manufactured in the mentioned facilities.
Commenting on the manufacturing of various supplies and equipment within the country, Jafari noted that the companies operating under IMIDRO prevented the outflow of approximately $1.2 billion from the country by producing needed equipment and supplies domestically for the first time thanks to the country's local potential.
According to him, it is planned to produce equipment worth $500 million domestically in the current year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023). So far, $300 million worth of equipment and supplies have been produced within the country.
The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) operates under the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade of Iran. There are 64 companies are operating under this organization.
The IMIDRO and its subsidiaries intend to implement projects worth $16.3 billion within 5 years (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2025) and put new facilities into operation as a part of the projects. Reportedly, the mentioned facilities will operate in steel, copper, aluminum, gold, and other fields.
