Iran's motorcycle production increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Iran’s motorcycle production has increased by about 89 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as reflected in the statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Trend reports.

According to the statistics, a total of 373,662 motorcycles were manufactured in Iran within 10 months.

Meanwhile, the country’s motorcycle production stood at 198,087 units in the same period last Iranian year.

In general, motorcycle production in Iran over the past 5 year was as follow;

- 272,000 units - last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022);

- 150,681 units - 2 years ago (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021);

- 87,198 units - 3 years ago (March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020);

- 86,355 units - 4 years ago (March, 2021, 2018 through March, 202 2019);

- 87,709 units - 5 years ago (March 21, 2017 through March 20, 2018).

As reported, there are 56 plants operating in motorcycle manufacturing in Iran. Of this, 30 are fully operational, and the rest are partially operational.

Currently, about 16,000 people work at the mentioned plants.
