COUNCIL OF CIA AND BALTIC COUNCIL OF RAILWAY TRANSPORT GOES ON IN GEORGIA

Arif Asgarov, head of the Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) represents Azerbaijan in a three-day 41st meeting of the CIS and Baltic Council of Railway Transport, Trend reports.

The gathering is centered on problems of railway transport, in particular, the implementation of the resolutions taken in the 40th meeting, results of work done in the railway networks over the past 5 months, initial results of registration freight carriages with consideration of containers, schedule of cargo deliveries via international routes in 2005-2006, schedule of trains, changes and supplements to an agreement on application of international passenger transportation norms among CIS countries and Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, changes and supplements to the transportation of dangerous products, debt settlements by the leaderships by railway administrations in the first quarter of 2005.

The discussion will also concern the scientific-research and practical-constructive issues. Besides, the meeting will also define the date of the 42nd session of the organization.
